ive done the towel trick, wrap a towel round it, leave it on 4 half hr-switch of then on But it still might just stay on for 5mins, couple hrs. theres a chip inside that has come loose because the glue holding it has got hot, so the chip isnt connected. Thats y people do the towel, oven trick, the heat makes the chip reconnect(temporary), take it to shop. They will use a better glue , computer shops.

the best "trick" that worked for me on two separate Xbox's was taking it apart completely, starting with taking off the plastic case, the inner metal box casing, taking ALL of the plastic off the xbox, and stripping it down to the motherboard and components. preheat your oven to 250 degrees, and put the xbox I there at that temp for about 2-3 minutes, take it out, and turn the oven up to 350 and let it sit in the oven at that heat for about 7-10 minutes. then take it out, let it cool for a couple of hours, then put it back together and it should work fine. I know this sounds silly, but it does work... but by doing this you will break the warranty sticker thus not allowing you to send it back to Microsoft to have them fix for I believe 80$. but this trick should work for you!

Warning : this will smell, so I advice doing it without having to cook shortly after because your kitchen will smell for about an hour after.
