MS Office Student 2007 - uninstall from dying XP PC and install in laptop?

I have MS Office Home & Student 2007 on my PC which runs on XP - obviously not for much longer. I would like to move the program to my laptop, which runs on Windows 8. I'm thinking of uninstalling from PC and loading into laptop. Is that possible? Is it legal? If it runs on XP then would it run on Windows 8?

You are allowed to uninstall your Office 2007 from your old PC (use the Control Panel) and then you can install it onto your new PC. Office 2007 runs in Windows 8 and 8.1.

If you look here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/arc... It says that Office 2007 is supported on Windows 8. Home & Student usually comes with 3 licenses, so if you haven't used them all up, you should be able to just use another one of your licenses and it will activate fine. However, if you used up all of them, don't worry. Simply call Microsoft to activate the product, explain your situation to a representative, and they should give you an activation code. My dad has successfully done this in the past. It it not illegal no matter which one of the two methods above, it is only illegal if you use a program to activate it without obtaining a legitimate license.

Search for its license. MS Office 07 comes with a license which can be used in 3 computers. You can install it on your laptop, as office 07 is supported from win8

I doubt it. If it's XP the program most likely runs 32 bit, windows 8 only runs 64 bit. Give it a try though, it's worth one for sure.

Get Libreoffice. It recognizes Office files and it is a free download. I think that if you did the transfer it would work but in case it doesn't you can use Libreoffice.
