X-Pipe or no only dual for an exhaust system?

Just working out the exhaust system on my dart and am wondering if it would be a good idea to install an x-pipe. Now this car is going to be LOUD, engine is brand new 360 small block, new aluminum heads, cam, Intake, pistons, intake manifold, carb ect, engine runs at about 11:1 compression, so its far from stock. What would sound the best? the x-pipe or simply true dual off the headers and out either the side or at the rear. There is also no cat in the setup because of the cars year I don't need them. I know engines inside and out, but i'm clueless when it comes to exhaust systems.

I had a Mustang 5.0 with an X-Pipe and flowmasters. The sound was just awesome.

Of course if you want the car to have more power, then the straight exaust would be better.

So tell me what you know about engines inside and out. (Knuckles chuckle's)

X pipe if you're gonna do dual's. Don't over size the pipe, and it will take a LOT smaller pipe than you will think or be told by most. Too much pipe diameter will destroy scavenge and thus piss a TON of torque out of it.

Unless you are going to zing 7000+ RPM, in most cases, you'll make more torque AND horsepower below 7,000 if you properly size a single exhaust vs a dual and cam accordingly. Or at least Y into a single and then split into two. If you care to look at naturally aspirated 90 degree firing order V8's, you'll see what I mean. I have even had a private message which eluded that I am full of s**t about this single exhaust thing, yet funny how the message offered no evidence to substantiate... Just a simple "That's just wrong". WTF ever.

All I can say is you can either listen to me or not, BUT don't knock me until you try it. I love it when people make a statement to play gotcha and then I ask them if they have ever this or that only to hear them say no, and then I am real quick to say "Well...I have and MANY times in MANY situations and circumstances".

I don't like arguments. I steer away from them, actually. However, I get ornery in a hurry when someone wants to make blanket statements and point fingers but then their lack of ability or willingness to defend their statement suggests that they're talking out of their a** and have NO CLUE or experience basis for wtf they are saying or why they say it. I'm all ears if you have something better, but if you say you do and want to come to me having a "gotcha" attitude, then all I can say is you better back it up with proof or don't bother me 'till you can, as I CAN back up what I say or I won't say it.

Just because something gains horsepower does not mean it will accelerate faster. That is why I tell people to not be sucked into buying something based on a horsepower claim alone and why I say a Dyno is a good piece of equipment but if you are wise you won't live and die by it alone. If I had a Dollar for every time I have seen someone get all excited about a modification which give them (say) 20 more horsepower on the Dyno, as I am standing there telling them something like "Yes, but you had to spin it 500 more RPM to realize the gain and you puked 1000 RPM's worth of torque out of it and gave up 35 ft lbs and therefore it's going to slow down on the track" and then they go to the track and guess what...gasp...the car ran slower or flat-out wouldn't get out of it's own way, in spite of their mouth running in the Dyno cell. LOL. Humble Pie, Man.

PLEASE don't ask me to pick a cam for you made by someone else. I make and sell cams, not answer "Can you tell me what size and brand of cam to buy" questions. The only answer is "You can buy one from me, I'll make you one". Cam specs are reserved for buyers only, sorry, as I won't do camshaft homework for shoppers who then buy a non-comparable elsewhere. A set of Try-Y headers with a SCHOENFIELD OR DYNATECH X cross pipe will build the torque at lower RPM's

The X-pipe will enhance torque and HP. It's a definite yes.

yes either an X pipe or H pipe will help the exhaust scavenge better.
