do i need to line a silicone cake mould?

so...making a cake with my lil one and it says line the tin, as its silicone do i still need to line it,

the cake is a fruit cake.

moving on from a victoria sponge :)

    Grease it with butter or margarine. Works like a charm for me.

    You're not supposed to grease or line this, because its silicone, its advertised as never sticking, but have tried it and it does stick. Instead of greasing your mould use a fine sieve and dust it all over with flour, as grease, seems to burn the outer cake.

    well we have silicone baking stuff at home i would grease it because sometimes it sticks but if you wanna be on safe side i would line it so it doesnt stick and break. Have fun :)

  • No, I don't even grease silicone forms, but if you want to ensure no sticking, I would recommend you to grease it just in case
