I ate vegan for 2 weeks, then I was ravenous for beef. Any idea why?
I only ate beans and vegetables for 2 weeks, then I was ravenous and starving for beef for 4 days since Monday. Can anyone tell me why that happened?

Were you getting enough protein? I know when I was vegan I started having strange cravings for eggs, ravenous and starving would probably be the appropriate description for it actually! Eggs are not the sort of thing I would normally crave, it only happened as a vegan and I don't eat a lot of eggs!
Also I'm not convinced that going straight from eating meat to vegan is the best idea, your body is used to getting meat, its better to reduce the amount gradually. I went from vegetarian to vegan over a number of months, more months than I stayed vegan!

Why even be as specific to mention vegan diet? You make any change in your life for a blink like 2 weeks, and you will naturally want to go back. Your body may or may not be ravenous for meat, what is sure is that you personally are wanting meat. That is understandable. Change takes effort and time. It has only been 2 weeks.

You should eat all kinds of food there are within the vegan diet. A lot of things can satiate you that don't come from animals. Nuts are a good choice, also plenty and diverse veggies, fruit juices, breads... Or you should just get the beef.

Unless you have the conviction to become a vegetarian or a vegan you will always "cave" in when you want meat.
If you truly want to eliminate meat from your diet make sure you are getting a balanced diet. Next time you crave beef tell yourself that you are not going to have it and stick to your convictions. (why is it when I am on a diet the ONLY commercials on TV I see are for chocolate?)

We vegetarians, when first beginning our new diet, often make the mistake of not eating enough calories. Predictably, we then become fatigued. We might then blame our tiredness on lack of meat (when it's actually lack of calories).
Not eating enough calories is one of the biggest mistakes that new vegetarians make. It's important to remember that beans are very low in calories, even compared to lean meats.
For example, look at the calorie content of these fruits and vegetables, per 100 grams of food:
Pinto beans, boiled: 143 calories per 100 g,
Potato, boiled, with skin: 87 calories per 100 g
Peach: 39 calories per 100 g
Watermelon: 30 calories per 100 g
Now, compare those calorie numbers with these numbers for “low fat” meats:
Chicken breast, skinless, roasted: 165 calories per 100 g
Ground beef, 90% lean, broiled: 217 calories per 100 g

The solution to this problem is to eat plenty!!

I think you need a more varied diet than just sticking to two kinds of foods!
Try eating baby carrots with hummus, whole grain toast with peanut butter and banana slices, stir fried tofu with veggies, whole wheat pasta topped with tomato sauce and Daiya vegan cheese, soy yogurt with nuts, homemade granola, trail mix, fruit/spinach smoothies, hot cocoa made with soy milk, vegan faux "meats", and spicy vegetable curries, soups, stews, or chilis. There are tons of options out there for you to explore! Don't limit your diet to beans and vegetables. That is enough to make anyone switch back to eating meat. Your body needs vitamins and minerals.
Eat spinach, soy milk, and almond milk for calcium, oatmeal/fortified cereals for iron, lentils, whole grains, nut butters, and seeds for protein....and so on and so forth.
Do your own research if you really want to go vegan. If you think it's not what you want to do, try vegetarianism, or just further educate yourself on omnivorous diets to make sure you are getting all the vital nutrients your body needs.
:) Best of luck!

The things you crave the most is what your body really don't need. For example if you stop drinking you desire alachol.
You shocked your system, probably changing your pH... If you eat beef your blood will be more acid.

If you really want to be a vegan then just ignore your feelings. Because you are new in vegan world so just concentrate your vegan world. Ignore what your tongue want.

You probably weren't getting enough fats in your diet, or eating a properly-balanced diet in general. Lots of people make that mistake.
