Which computer will perform better?

I am not trying to build a computer. The desktop has already been built and has been around for about 2 years. My friend got a laptop in the summer of 2013 and I want to know who's is better in terms of raw performance in games and everything.

I know I am comparing these two like apples and oranges, but I am just curious of which one is better.

DESKTOP:

FX-6300 OC @ 4.75GHz

GTX 550 Ti OC 20% more

8GB 1600MHz RAM

WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM

Crucial M4 128GB SSD (Boot drive)

3x 2.5" 5400RPM 250GB laptop drives in RAID 0.

LAPTOP:

Intel i7 3630QM 2.4GHz

GT 650m SLI

1TB Generic Seagate 5400RPM HDD

8GB 1600MHz RAM

Those were all the specs of the Laptop that were listed.

I might build a new desktop soon, might post a question on that.

Thanks

The FX-6300 is actually worse than a i5 let a lone an i7 and having 4 cores makes a big difference. That being said desktops almost always beat their laptop counterparts in some form or another (cooling, product value etc.) Laptop cpus and video cards are on specifically designed motherboards for that product which basically cant be upgraded (1-3 years down the road when you want that new video card etc you cant upgrade it on a laptop because parts are specifically built per design and are not universal). Clearly the laptop has better specs except for the hard drive but a laptop at those specs is like 1.5-2 grand and a pc at the *(Laptop)* specs can be found for like $700 dollars or maybe even cheaper if you build it yourself.

the pc has a good graphics card but a bad cpu the laptop has a better cpu but a bad hard drive and a graphics card that has slightly the same preformance as the desktp's graphics card
