Personal preferences on living in the city, suburbs, or country in New Zealand?

I'm just curious what people in each region think about living in those areas.

I personally like Auckland because its spread out and is so varied in people who live there. Some people say it isn't nice and full of mean people, but those people have ever been there. The Auckland CBD is lovely but has some dangerous people like any other city.

Wellington (where i live) is a hole. its grey and windy and is so small and everyone there is rude and couldnt care about anyone but themselves.

Dunedin is nice but since its at the bottom of the south island its cold most of the year. it isn't as populated as other cities and is a mostly students attending otago university.

Christchurch is nice but is currnetly in rebuild after the earthquake, but is lovely with nice people and average weather.

Depends what you want. I don't like the CBD but I like the things the city offers. So suburbs work fine for me.
