need a genetic disorder for character?

I have a child character 4 years old, she needs to have an illness passed down from her parents, either one or both, that would cause her to be hospitalized a lot, and wrack up the medical bills. I would really appreciate ideas because I am having trouble :) thanks!

Update:

The story is more focused on her mother, who is my main. The little girl just needs to be sick. Not a mental disorder, just physical, and must be genetic. Thanks so much for your ideas!

Update 2:

There are many genetic disorders to choose from, ranging from sickle cell disease to down syndrome. Tay-Sachs is a recessive genetic disorder which causes deterioration of nerve cells and normally results in death around the age of 4. Below is a link with a list of some other genetic disorders.
