Christians; "Unless you eat of the flesh of the son of man..." How do you feel about this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGk53Tu1-zU

Warning; This video is disturbing, but Christians need to address how their message can be so distorted as to allow for justification of murder and cannibalism. What would you say to your fellow Christian "Mad Dog"?

    This is a great illustration of how backwards and medieval the Third World countries are which we've dragged inappropriately into the Twenty-First Century because they happened to have some dirt we wanted.

    Hi there...in being fair and impartial, no matter what our beliefs are, wouldn't you agree we would not distort information? Information that is distorted is simply put lies, which are propaganda when they are spread. In this video, this clearly sick and misguided individual, makes no mention of John 6:53, in addition, that scripture is not referring to eating another person outside of the Christ. So even if this misguided individual would have used this scripture as an excuse for this disturbing and unchristian behavior, he still would have been wrong as it was not applying to anyone else, in fact if you read further in the account many begged off following Jesus as they felt his speech was shocking, however those who were sincere continued following him for further explanation. This eating and drinking would obviously have to be done figuratively; otherwise the one doing it would be violating God’s law. (Gen. 9:4; Acts 15:28, 29) Notice that Jesus said that those thus eating and drinking would have “everlasting life.” Earlier, in Joh 6 verse 40, when explaining what people must do to have everlasting life, what did he say was the will of his Father? That “everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life.” Reasonably, then, ‘eating his flesh and drinking his blood’ in a figurative sense is done by exercising faith in the redeeming power of Jesus’ flesh and blood laid down in sacrifice. This exercising of faith is required of all who will gain the fullness of life, whether in the heavens with Christ or in the earthly Paradise.

    Although one may say they're a Christian, that does not indicate that one is such as Mad Dog clearly demonstrates, nor would it make the Muslims who killed his wife and children anymore true Muslims just because they say they are Muslims. In the first place, the identifying mark of a true Christian is love, Christ stated the following, John 13:34-35, "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves.” In addition, when Christ instituted Christianity, wars of a physical nature were to cease for his true followers, for that reason he reprimanded Peter when he cut the ear off of the slave of the high priest that came to put in the custody, Matthew 26:52. One of the signs of the last days was hypocrisy in the name of religion, 2 Timothy 3:4-5, so this really should not be a surprise to see that.

    Sometimes it's easy to look at the defects in something or someone because we either can't meet up to the standards of the person or in this case Christianity, so we see a need to find defects with people who claim to be its members or it maybe because of the rampant hypocrisy that is part of religion that makes you take your stand. The true religion does exist but one would have to investigate to find out if the members of as a whole practice the tenants that Christ commanded John 15:14 & 1 John 5:3-5.

    I don't consider this man any more a true Christian than I would consider an American that has gone traitor to his country, it's the same difference. Mature and reasonable people can differentiate the real from the fake.

    I hope this helps.

    If ignorance was your only vice I would say you might have a chance, but arrogance is no excuse. This is not what is meant about Jesus being the bread, and in no way does Jesus condone this. Many claim to be Christians but when it comes down to it, the truth rises to the top. As it is written in Matthew 13:1-23 in the parable of the sower;

    Matthew 13:19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

    20  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

    21  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

    22  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

    23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

    Too disturbing to watch that whole thing and give me a break to blame Christians for sick people's behaviors. Cannibalism has been around forever...look at Jeffery Dahmer an avowed atheist who killed his victims, dismembered them, froze their body parts and ate some. Here in NY years ago some teacher or professor I forget which he was, lured a young athlete to his home, killed him and ate his genitals. Sick people do sick things. And I recall many years ago in an African country a US military helicopter was shot down, a young soldier was killed, the people burned him and dragged his body around laughing in glee. Do not try blaming true Christians for any atrocities like cannibalism or desecrating a dead person's body,.

    The bread and wine transform by the Holy Spirit into very literal body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. They turn into Jesus Christ and we receive Him; all of our sins are forgiven. It is not a metaphor. The people there present said it was a hard teaching. Jesus didn't stop them and say no no, I'm talking in a metaphorical way. He let them leave and turned to the Apostles' and asked were they going to leave.

    really, I can't believe you would say this you are trying to get your fellow atheists to support you through there sarcasm, and you just want to push Christians buttons and try to prove us wrong. now the things that they did is that found in the bible? NO! and you and here taking this little thing that confused people did. someone did not talk to them our discus about what the bible says." And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24 that is what the bible says. and Jesus gave bread as a figurative representation. and Jesus even said bread. Jesus did not take a part of his body and give that for them to eat."Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you." john 6:53 is the verse you are referring to and same thing he was using figurative language and he gave them bread to eat. before you jump to conclusions read your verses first.

  • Justice is Justice!, when the Muslims want to stop murdering every man ,woman and child because they think they have some laughable special right to and not face justice, then they are nuts.

    This message is the meat of the Gospel---eating of flesh symbolizes that we are to be just as Jesus--in our spiritual man---Jesus came to offer a new path to God, man must through Jesus seek and find that path--the more like him we are the easier to find and be with God. It has nothing to do with the eating of eating meat of another human but of the sacrifice of the perfect lamb---Jesus was that perfect 'Lamb of God", the perfect sacrifice that make rebirth spiritually possible.

    At the last supper, Jesus used bread and wine. He broke the bread and said, eat this, this is my body. He passed around the wine and said drink this, this is my blood. Do these things in remembrance of me. He didn't literally give them flesh and blood. Its never been literal blood and flesh. Its symbolism.

    That's why it's so important for people to read and study the Bible on their own to see what is REALLY says so that people can't pull this kind of nonsense on them. People who KNOW the BIble, who read, study and understand its message aren't fooled by things like this, however, most professed Christians have never read the Bible let alone studied and researched it. Jesus said it means our everlasting life to take in knowledge of him and his Father Jehovah God.
