Help with Synology NAS Server setup.?
(1) Right now my 2 bay server with 2 drives are mirroring each other. I would like to know if and how I can have the 2 drives not mirror each other - so I would have two 2TB drives in the server.
(2) Then I would like to plug in a 4TB external hard drive to my server and automatically back up the two 2TB drives in my NAS server.
Is this possible?
How would I do this?
Thanks!!!

1.) Certainly, you just configure your NAS as a JBOD. (Just a Bunch Of Disks.) The drives will operate as independent of each other.
2.) Under the Main Menu on DSM, select "Backup and Restore". You can create a backup routine.
This should give you more detail:
Source(s): Own a DS413 running in RAID 1,0.
