What is an IVR transaction?

Interactive Voice Response i.e. IVR transactions are

transactions that you carry out over the telephone where

you provide your Credit Card number on an automated

system for the purpose of making a payment to a vendor

for purchase of goods, services etc. e.g Account

recharge on TATA SKY helpline.

Is this new mandate applicable only for IVR

transactions?

No. The mandate is applicable for both IVR transactions

as well as transactions done using your mobile phone

through applications like ngpay or mChek e.g. buying

movie tickets via ngpay. Hence, you will need to

generate this One Time password even when you are

shopping through your mobile.

In what way will this affect the way I carry out an IVR

transaction on my SBI Card?

You would be required to enter your IVR One Time

Password (OTP), in addition to other card details, to

transact on IVR & mobile w.e.f. 1st February, 2011.

What do I need to do to continue carrying out IVR

transactions on my SBI Card?

All you would need to do is generate the IVR One Time

Password (OTP) every time you want to transact through

an IVR or mobile. You can generate the OTP by any of

the following 3 ways-

Log on to our website- www.sbicard.com using your

user id & password

Call our dedicated call centre line for OTP generation at

1860 180 1291 or

SMS ‘OTP <last 4 digits of your SBI Card>’ to 5676791

from your mobile number registered with us

The IVR One Time Password (OTP) is a 6 digit numeric

password that will be sent on your mobile number

registered with us. You can then use this OTP to make a

payment over IVR or mobile using your SBI Card.

Can I use one OTP to conduct multiple transactions?

No. An OTP generated once is valid only for 1 successful

transaction or 12 hours whichever is earlier. You will

need to generate a new OTP for every new transaction.

What happens if I input a wrong OTP?

If you input a wrong OTP, you cannot retry at the same

time. You will have to restart the transaction and

regenerate a new OTP.

Where can i get SBI Debit Card One Time Password (OTP

SBI has a full team of lethargic people and since 1 year being an NRI, I am unable to do any ONLINE PAYMENT. While Opening account they do not accept Overseas Numbers for NRI accounts.

OTP is sent to Indian numbers while we are overseas.

No feed back on email.

We cannot register any features for Online Bill Payment while Overseas.

Each activation has to be done in the BRANCH where you have account.

So a person in USA has to come to SBI Branch to just enroll his LIC, Telephone, Electricity Bills etc.

Bank personnel may say, why did you not do when in India.

People in my Branch are so active, they have taken all details and said that it will be activated from BANGALORE HO. It is 2 yrs now and nothing has happened.

I don't think there is provision of OTP in SBI Debit Cards. Rather you can created a 3D secure password which you will have to input before any transaction is accepted. To register 3D password, go to https://acs.onlinesbi.com/sbi/enrollment/enroll_we... .After registering, you can input your 3D secure password for added security online.

NOTE: The 3D secure password is an added security mandated by Reserve Bank of India. It may not be required for transactions in foreign websites (servers located outside India). Anyways, I don't think there is a OTP requirement for SBI Debit Card as I myself searched a lot for it. You may contact the Branch Manager for further advice.

I had one SBI a/c, one ATM-***-debit card was issued, my mobile number successfully registered for the a/c by home branch, I got all SMS alert while withdrawing money from ATMs and making online transaction using net banking (I got OTP for netbanking also). But I was not getting OTP for online transaction using DEBIT CARD. Tried at branch and SBI helplines also but NO help.

SOLUTION:- Just mail to <cm3it.cms@sbi.co.in> mentioning full detail of the problem as I did in above and get 100% guaranteed solution within 24 hours. I got it on 7th Aug.2014. It is the mail id of (Chief Manager), Complaints Management Dept., SBI, GITC,

Without OTP you cannot generate 3D secure password.At the time of making purchase OTP is not required for ATM debit card.If you forget your 3D password than OTP is required for generating new 3D. Prey to God if the bank is sbi. most of the punters dont know OTP
