SOLVED- Java 7/51 DOES work in Yahoo Games?
This solution was tested by me in Yahoo Games "Pool" game. You will understand how to get your specific games to work from reading this. Go to this site: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_blocked.... scroll down to workaround (halfway down the page). Add the following exception to Java 7 update 51 in Java's control panel (Security tab) You can copy these addresses from here- but when you click add in the control panel you have to right click the field and hit Ctrl and v to paste it into that field (right click of mouse didn't work for me to just paste).
http://games.yahoo.com/ (this exeception is a MUST for any Yahoo games to work).
After you enter this exception into Java's Control Panel, try to enter the game you wish to play and it will come up with a security notice listing that while "http://games.yahoo.com"/ has an exception, the following Domain don't (or words to that effect)- MAKE NOTE OF THAT SERVER AS IT MAY BE SPECIFIC TO YOUR GAME OF CHOICE- THEY HAVE TO BE ENTERED INTO JAVA'S EXCEPTIONS (you don't have to list anything after the (dot) com. The servers listed in Pool (these MAY be specific to only the Pool game) are as follows:
http://yog1.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog2.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog3.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog4.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog5.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog6.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
http://yog7.games.sp2.yahoo.com/
Keep adding in successive numbers if need be- I seen yog7 popup, but there could be more servers so add 8, 9, etc. ITS NOT ALLOWING WILDCARDS in Javas control panel. Apparently Yahoo uses any number of "domains" to run games. PLEASE REMEMBER this was ONLY tried in the Pool game, servers may differ, but you get the idea how to resolve this issue specific to whichever game you wish to play. You may still get the box popping up in whichever browser your running to allow Java to run, that can't be avoided however. THIS IS A ONE TIME SETUP HURDLE WITH JAVA, ONCE THE EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE- ITS OVER AND DONE WITH. GAME ON PEOPLE!
Other games besides the "Pool" game require you also add: http://l.yimg.com/ to Java's exception list. Thanks for the heads up Wide Glide, but judging from history, it will be awhile before Yahoo changes this for the better, I still remember how they fixed their chat rooms. In the meanwhile- people have to have their games, guess it beats reality- right? Thanks again, and FYI, I am also the same Ironic that posted below.

People also need to add http://l.yimg.com/ to Java's Control Panel security tab exceptions for other games to work. @Wide Glide- Thank you for your reply. I added 3 of the sites listed to my Hosts file, the rest were already listed in the Hosts file. I'm Mojo BTW, just under a different user name. From your posts I can tell your a seasoned veteran of Yahoo Answers, your also very well informed. I just took this issue on because I love solving mysteries (as well as playing pool). Its a shame Yahoo won't let more responses so we can further follow up on topics. I won't be surprised if Yahoo does eventually resign itself to the HTTPS, seems fitting on the heels of Java's heightened security. Your extremely helpful in these posts, I for one realize it seems a thankless proposition offering people solutions without so much as a reply. But thought you should know, I appreciate your help. Thanks

Mojo/Ironic - thanks for the info! I was able to get Yahoo Gin working with Java7 build 51 using this: http://yog38.games.sp2.yahoo.com/yog/
After Java updated and I couldn't get in, I copied down the http listed on the error pop-up for the game room I wanted. Then I went to Control Panel, selected Java (32-bit) for the Java console, clicked the security tab, clicked "Edit Site List", clicked "Add", pasted in the URL, clicked "Add" to register it, clicked "Continue" on the warning pop-up, then "OK" to close the Java console. I closed and re-started Chrome, went to the Yahoo game room, and Chrome displayed a yellow bar at the top saying "Java needs your permission to run", whereon I clicked "always run for this site". I clicked "Run" on the final security warning and then was able to get in.
Hope this can help someone else, too!

Thanks for the info. In addition to the main http://games.yahoo.com/ as well as the list of "yog" server addresses, you may also need to add other main host servers on in other regions of the world such as http://uk.play.yahoo.com/ found at the top of the error page displayed. Required for playing Euchre this server. Hope this helps.
