You can buy a 500G 2.5" SATA drive almost anywhere. The problem is moving your system and data to it.

The best way is to do a complete backup to an external hard drive and create a recover boot CD using windows recovery and backup. Once you have done that, you swap out the hard drive and boot from the recovery CD which can then reinstall you system from the external hard drive image onto the new hard drive.
If your old hard drive is already dead you probably need help from an expert, who may be able to recover most or all of your system and data.
You can move to a larger hard drive but I would not recommend that for a laptop. If fact I would recommend a smaller SSD and put your data on a external drive.
