what happened... truck is broke down..?

Turned ignition on 89 ford f 150.. jammed and truck wouldn't shut off.. till truck died.. anybody know why and what to do to fix this.. please

    will if the ignition switch is jammed and you can't turn off the truck then, it needs a new key switch.

    New switch and put gas.
