Fishing low tided at the beach and bay?

Can anyone help give me some advice about fishing at low tide for beach and bays? I don't have much luck during low tide but I read that some people prefer fishing at low tide. Is low tide actually good for fishing?

In general, right at low tide is a poor time for fishing. That's because water has stopped flowing out, and not started flowing in again, meaning there's little current, and with little current, fish don't feed as well. An hour or so after the lowest tide, the currents will be running and the bite will pick up.

If you're fishing from shore, low tide can let you venture farther out, and cast to areas you might not reach when the tide is higher, but if the fish aren't biting, that might not help much. If your fishing time is limited, plan on fishing an incoming or outgoing tide; and the bigger the difference between high and low tide the better.

But, as with anything in fishing, nothing is absolute. You can sometimes get fish in seemingly horrible conditions, and another day when everything looks perfect they can get lockjaw.
