When a con man says "Now People Will Call Me a Liar" does that make him a prophet?

...because millions of people that he conned called him a liar? I keep hearing that god exists because the bible says people were not going to believe in him.

You call these people prophets.

    No they are not prophets.

A broken clock tells the right time twice a day. The law of averages dictates that even a psychotic schizophrenic is as accurate as a broken clock.

Take it from there and run with it.

If you ever studied the Bible you would see that there were both true and false prophets. God set the standard for prophets for all time and it is found in Deuteronomy 18:22 (KJV).

"When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken; but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously; thou shalt not be afraid of him."

Obviously this scripture teaches that a prophet is only valid if his prophecies are 100% accurate.

A couple of examples of false prophets in our generation who gave prophecies that did not come true are Benny Hinn and Kim Clement.

Below is one example from each person, but there are more as a google search will reveal.

Benny Hinn prophesied that God would destroy the homosexual community before 1995.

Kim Clement prophesied no Americans would be killed in the war in Iraq.

I don't even know who you're talking about, but he doesn't sound trustworthy.

It would be like if someone says:

I'm not a liar, how dare you call me a liar. I'm not lying about anything. I'm insulted that you would call me a liar. Now you understand I'm not a liar don't you? You do believe I'm not a liar right?

The more times someone uses that word is generally a very good indicator that they love to tell little stories and expect you to believe them.

No. Merely one who knows their audience.

More, the majority in fact, are going to believe Satan's versions of things, rather than the Truth from Almighty God, Jehovah. Satan does not care what anyone believes. Just as long as it is never the only approved way Jehovah has provided in the pages of the Bible.

Satan does not care if one worships one god, three or a thousand. As long as humans never worship Jehovah, in the only approved way, he knows they are dead. Just close, misses it by a mile.

To have any trace of pagan or just false religion mixed into pure worship fails completely. At 2 Corinthians 6:13-18, we learn from many examples there that Jehovah will never accept any false worship or a mix of pure worship with anything from Satan. Only after we get rid of ALL those things in our lives, will he take us in as his people.

No normal person could have known people would think he was a liar. This is how Jesus prophesied the end times (which lasts for 2000 years at least but I'm pretty sure the world ends in december 2014)

  • Prophets are never liked wear God sends them, for they always deliver a message that they do not want to hear. Those that are wise hear and listen and adjust their ways to meet Gods standards, The ones that do not go to their doom.

It's a bit like the emperors new cloths isn't it. And then they wonder why they get ridiculed.
