How can I protect my dogs nerve damaged leg?

My dog was hit by a car about 3 weeks ago and now had a dead leg from nerve damage... He already has some decent grazes on his leg from dragging it and I was wondering what I could do to stop that? I've already seen the vet and he has ordered a boot for him but in the mean time what can I do other than just bandaging it (he keep chewing the bandages off)... HELP!!!!

Maybe. You could make a cast for it using sticks and cloth.that's a good question.

Yes, it is extremely painful, and requires pain medication for several days (5-7, give or take) after the surgery (at humane clinics, anyway). I'd never trust a vet that says pain medication isn't neccesary for a declaw. Most of the vets I know recommend trying to train your cat to scratch on proper materials before considering a declaw. As previously mentioned, it is an amputation up to the first knuckle, followed by either scraping, cauterizing, or a chemical burn to the growing tissues of the bone. There are now studies suggesting that declawed cats are also more prone to arthritis as they age. Other studies suggest that the pain lasts longer than we think, and that declawing changes the way they walk, which causes new stress to different joints - causing pains in other parts of the body and contributing to arthritis. Personally I hate to see declaws and the pain it causes. Get a scratching post or 3, and some catnip if your cat is male.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info/

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication

I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.

I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

he needs a cone so he will stop chewing on bandages

and I would seek the opinion of an orthopedic vet specialist to see if they think he will be better off with or without the leg in the long run

If the leg is truly dead and no chance of any use of it then it should be amputated.

    There is no other solution...!!!!
