Why can't people give Richard Sherman of the 2013 NFC Champion Seahawks a break.?

I am so sick of how people are bashing him calling him a thug and every other ignorant racial comment in the history of White America ( I am a White Man by the way ). First if you watch and hear the sound bytes of the end of the NFC Title game he went up to Michael Crabtree and congratulated him on a good game and because Crabtree is bitter about losing he shoves his hand in Sherman's face. This makes Sherman (and anybody else on the planet who would be in that situation ) very upset and when Erin Andrews interviewed him just minutes after that incident he is going to be upset because Crabtree was such a sore loser and couldn't stand the fact that Sherman beat him on the deflection and interception.

Also people call him a THUG. When you are salutatorian of your high school class, score 1400 on your SATs, and graduate from Stanford University you are HARDLY a thug, Thugs are morons and Sherman is a highly intellectual educated man. When White people go off and call him names that I can't mention in this statement they are just bitter and jealous that a 25 year old black man from Compton, California is more intelligent, educated, and successful in his profession than they are, and I can say all of this because I am a WHITE MAN!!!!!

Nobody should give him a break because he is so stupid, he thinks "thug" is an acceptable word for niqqer. Too bad I know dozens of white thugs and therefore they couldn't be called niqqer without the guy saying niqqer being a complete moron.

This is something we should and will forget about and it overshadowed a lot of other things that took place. I agree with you, that Crabtree is not morally innocent; showed issues in shoving Sherman and a lack of sportsmanship.

The real "sorry" player was Kapernick, not Crabtree, who threw a pop-up pass to a receiver on an important play. The ball was so slow in getting there, that two defenders were able to get in front of the receiver when the ball finally got there. Of course it was intercepted, like other balls he threw that day, which were, or as Troy Aikman indicated, could have been intercepted.

Sherman is a loud guy, with unfortunate choice of words and bad timing, but in no way is he a thug.

Crabtree was unfortunate for beng the target of a poorly thrown pass

and morally wrong for shoving Sherman and lacks sportsmanship.

Kapernick, based on his performance should be a runningback, based on his great running skills.

People won't give Sherman a break because he doesn't want them to. He wants the attention and he'll do whatever he can to keep the spotlight on himself. And saying the term "thug" is a euphemism for "ni**er" is just the type of thing to accomplish this.

If he can't take the criticism he needs to keep his yap shut.

I agree that people just need to get over it. Where I don't agree with you is that Crabtree was being a sore loser. Sherman ran up to him immediately following the interception to say good game? He certainly wasn't doing it at that moment to be a good sport. He was doing it to rub it in.

Richard Sherman thinks thug means N-word. Did this guy really graduate from Stanford? He talks like he is from the hood. Sure he is one of the best cornerbacks in the league, but that just means he has skills, not that he is actually intelligent.

Actually, it depends on his work ethic during every offseason. If Richard Sherman works hard and performs very well in practice every day, he will greatly improve his chances of becoming an elite NFL cornerback in the future.

if you watch the sound FX of crabtree and sherman, you can see that the media overreacted on him

It caused a lot of Buzz and people thought he's arrogant and mentioning another player by name (Insulting another player) on camera violated the unwritten rules
