how long can foster kids stay in a placement home?
M22y best friend is a foster kid.she'll be 18 I'm 3 months. She recently ran away for the 5th time and turned herself in. She was put in a placement home 1/16/14 told me she had a meeting to see if she could go back to her old foster home 1/21/14. They took her phone the night she went in and I still have not talked to her. Her phone is still off and had not been on face book. How long can they keep her in the placement home?

For as long as they deem it necessary.
If she's run away 5 times, clearly she's not happy in her Foster Home, and if she's turning eighteen soon they may keep her at the placement home before sending her on to a half-way house when she turns eighteen.
Foster parents do their best, but if they've got one child that constantly runs away, they may as well give the bed to another child who wants it.
