Can antibiotics kick-start a hidden anxiety disorder?

Recently I've been through a lot of medical problems, including a broken foot, surgery, an infection, anillness to where I became so sick I fainted, etc. I went to the hospital and was given a dose of an antibiotic called Bactrim DS. Before I could even get my prescription filled I was overwhelmed with extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep apnea. I know that bactrim has known on rare occasions to cause these symptoms, but I took one dose 2 weeks ago. Shouldn't it be out of my system by now? I also know that slight anxiety and sleep apnea run in my family. Could all off these problems and the reaction to the bactrim kick-started a hidden anxiety disorder that just hadn't shown itself yet?

I know that some illnesses like auto-immune diseases and mast cell disorders - which can have the side affect of causing anxiety issues, although doctors are pretty bad at figuring this out - can be triggered sometimes by illness or if you have a reaction to medications.

Might be worth exploring, see if there are other symptoms you have right now too.
