Yup its absolutely safe to update your smartphone but its recommended to backup important data just as a precaution

You only get updates to apps you already have it is just either fixing issues or improving the already existing app.
So as long as all the apps you currently have are safe then so is the update.

Yup you can update your phone.but before this you should back up your data,apps,contact,sms etc.other wise you will loose it.
