    Its asking what percentage of 131 lbs is 20 lbs. You do so by turning it into a fraction and multiplying it by 100 [as percentage literally mean "out of 100"]

    => 20/131 * 100

    => 2000/131

    => 1965/131 + 35/131

    => 15 and 35/131 %

    => ≈ 15.267% (3 dp)

    If you weighed 131 lbs, and now weight 111 pounds. You lost approximately 15% of your original weight.

  • 7 years ago

    You lost 15.3%

    131-20=111

    111/131=84.7 % is the weight you have now

    100-84.7=15.3 % LOST

    You divide 20lbs / 131lbs = 0.1527

    Since percent is always out of 100, you take 0.1526 * 100% = 15.27%

    You lost 15.27% of your total weight.

    You divide 20 by 131 to get percentage.

    It is just over 15.2 %
