Do you have the answer to my computer problems?

I have a HP computer and have problems that I don't seem to be able to sort out. Can you help?

I get updates every day when I switch on the computer, presently over 20,000 and I am not receiving them and don't know how to deal with this. In the evening when I switch off I have notification "don't switch off your computer, it is configuring"

I also get pop ups all the time and don't know how to be rid of them, can you help?

First download Malwarebytes and run it. This will take care of the pop-ups.

Second run a full anti-virus scan. It sounds like your computer is infected.

This should take care of your problems.

Then go to windows update and see what CRITICAL updates are available for your computer. 20,000 is a ridiculous number. It should be around 10-15. Then follow the on screen instructions. Do not shut down until it is configured. It may then ask you to reboot and wait for the configuring to finish.

If this doesn't solve your problem with the updates, call 1-800-microsoft and they will help you at no charge. Computer updates are supported by Microsoft for free.

I guess you're using a windows based operating system. Press the start (windows) button > in the search bar type 'update' and click on windows update > then turn windows updates OFF. Most of the updates from microsoft are pointless and time consuming. Download a free anti-virus program (Malwarebytes, AVG Anti-Virus, Avast) just incase these are fake updates just downloading viruses (better to be safe than sorry). If you just want to speed up your computer try a disk cleanup and a defrag! Disk cleanup: My computer, right click your 'C:' drive and click 'Properties' then hit disk cleanup and it will come up with a few tick boxes, tick them all then click delete files (this will not delete and files you have ever made or need) it just deletes things you have deleted that are sat in your recycle bin and error files. After that do a defrag, right click your C: drive and click properties again, then go to the 'Tools' tab and click 'Defragmentation' then defrag your C drive. I hope this helps.
