Is Cathy McMorris Rodgers actually saying anything in her State of the Union rebuttal?

She is just blaming the President for the problems caused solely by her party. Then she spouts a bunch of meaningless garbage about how the Republicans have some magical plan to make things better, when they have nothing other than a plan to stop everything good that the President and the Democrats want to do. And of course, she ends with a prayer, as if that will do anything. As Paul Krugman just said, "lovely personal story, but absolutely zero policy content".

Anyone who can tell me something that the Republicans are trying to do to make our country better - and I mean something major and real that will help the poor and middle class - will get the 10 points. Since that won't happen, whoever best criticizes the garbage on the right wins.

Update:

To LiberalsRNutz - I took a look at those links and the Republican plan is to repeal Obamacare completely and put in a few minor improvements that will not even come close to making up for the tens of millions of people who would be harmed by the repeal. One point I found interesting was that people moving from one health plan to another won't lose coverage due to a pre-existing condition. Didn't that exist before Obamacare? And that means if you don't already have insurance, you can't get it because of your pre-existing condition - something Obamacare fixed. They want to expand the health care spending accounts and tax credits, which is a good thing but isn't going to help anyone who can't afford health insurance, and I'm sure won't help nearly as much as the subsidies for the poor and middle class, where most poor people don't pay and those who would otherwise struggle to pay will get some help. This is the typical Republican idea - put in a f

Update 2:

Not sure why my above comment got cut off. But the typical Republican idea is something that greatly benefits the rich or big business, has some tiny component of a good idea (in the hopes that the gullible public will focus on that), and is otherwise just something terrible for the poor and middle class.

Update 3:

Interesting about her son with Down Syndrome. Without heath insurance, you would have to be very rich to be able to pay for the extra medical care that her son most likely needs, and I suspect she isn't that rich. Unless she is paying for specialized private schooling and tutors out of her own pocket (unlikely since her son rides the school bus), the reason her son is doing so well is because of liberal policies that promote special education and give extra help, smaller classes, etc., for kids with disabilities. But instead of wanting to see other kids with Down Syndrome live full lives and have a chance at success, she'd rather see them suffer or die without health insurance and not have the same opportunity to get a good education.

I thought her response was supposed to be a Republican take on the president's address. It sounded more like it was a pre-written and rehearsed speech which included an autobiography. She criticized Obama's policies in generalities for everything wrong in the US and threw out Republican "plans" as solutions but gave no specifics.

I was most unimpressed but not surprised by what I heard and didn't hear.

She had absolutely zero substance. And she came across like a PBS Kids presenter. When she mentioned her letter from "Betty", I thought she was going to say it was Betty's 4th birthday and show a picture of her with her puppy.

Truly Mrs. Rodger's Neighborhood for the GOP response. Wow.

NO and it took her 20 minutes to hear her nothing.
