How do you remove long standing glue from a fridge?
I bought a fridge from someone who never removed the Hotpoint label from the door of the fridge whern they bought it so though the label was removed eventually there is a sheet of what seems like plastic coating remaining that will just not budge. Have tried concentrated Fairy Liquid which usually works and I've also tried acetone but absolutely nothing. If I try to scrape it off at the corners i starts to remove the enamel. Can anyone help ?

White spirit applied to a cloth or rag first and then rubbed on and into the area, it will work but you will have to keep at it for several minutes.

Apply some spirit and then remove it. Heat also works good on some cases but don't overdo it. Take it out bit by bit so that the damage done while removing the debris can be minimized.

I know this is going to sound weird but put some mayonnaise on it. Let it sit for a couple of hours then try to remove it. If this still doesn't work, try heating it up using a hair dryer.

Dampen it and dab baking soda on it
This will act as an abrasive on the sticker but wont harm the enamel !
