Using protein to gain weight?

I need to gain weight, im a 20 year old male, i weigh 120lbs, 6 ft tall. Anyways, i eat normal crap, im in college so its not amazing food but whatever. I have a fast metabolism, now gaining weight is one of those things i just dont understand and never have. I eat alot, snacking all the time, not all junk food, only ocassional. Someone said i need protein supllement.. But what kind? How do i use it? How should i work out with it? What should i eat with it? How long do i need it? I jus wanna get normal weight.. Please help and explain in a.. "simple" way.. Lol. Thank you

    Protein alone won't help gain weight. Protein is helpful for building muscle. Calories help gain weight. A scoop of 25g of protein only has around 120 calories which is not a lot because a banana has around 100. If you go to the gym protein after a workout has been shown in studies to double the amount of muscle building. And whether you go to the gym or not all protein helps burn fat.

    You need to eat atleast 6 meals a day. breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, post workout, supper, snack. (every 3 hours) you want your meals to contain a protein source carb source and veggie source. You need carbs or else your body won't take the protein. Take your protein shake immediately after your workout then about an hour later have a meal. Depeneding on your weight depends on how much protein you need. I'm 130 pounds and I take 110g of protein every meal.

    You can increase your weight by eating fatty food items like hen's egg without frying ,mutton's flesh and it's fat , potato foods like chips ,fish dishes ,with little exercise for 2 to 6 months continuously you can increase your weight by eating above items n with exercise..all the best
