Should I see my Gyno?

I have a thick clumpy white discharge that has a "fishy" odor to it which is strongest after sex according to my fiance. I immediately thought it was bacterial vaginosis but I have never had BV I have had 3 yeast infections in my lifetime. The only issue was the "fishy" odor. I am not irritated or red or puffy or itching just thick white fishy discharge. I told my mom about it and she use to be a nurse also. She gave me Monistat 3. I made an appointment with my gyno before I had talked with my mom but now after using the Monistat I no longer have the fishy discharge and my discharge has went from thick and clumpy to a smooth milky cream kind of consistency. Should I bother going to my gyno? Any advice?
