Hi-5 Scams ? Why I am I being asked to use Yahoo Messenger?
Hello,
On the MSN Hi5 I have had various people try to contact me. They say they like my profile and want to be friends or in contact. However one thing they ask is if I have Yahoo Messenger because they want to chat right away for goodness sake, Anyone know whats up. Checked google and found no clear answers.

These are scammers. They use Yahoo Messenger as it's one of the few messenger services they can use in Nigeria and Ghana where most of these scammers are from. Also you cannot get a record of your chats on Yahoo Messenger, nor can you trace the person's IP address which is why they use it. Because if they do scam someone, there is no way for the police to trace them
NEVER respond to these people - they are only out to steal your money and identity
