Sunbeam snakes require some specialized care and are not good beginner snakes. Ball pythons are not the greatest beginner snakes due to their heat and humidity requirements and temperamental feeding habits. Red tail boas are not beginner snakes due to their requirements for heat and humidity, and their eventual size and the corresponding necessary caging. Ball pythons and boas are great intermediate level snakes for someone who has had a little experience caring for snakes and understands the commitment a little better.

For beginners I recommend corn snakes. They don't have the same requirements for specialized care that the three snakes mentioned above have. They're generally pretty mellow, easy to handle, and typically have no feeding problems. They can reach ~6 feet in length, but without the body mass of a boa or python, so a huge cage is not necessary (a 40 breeder will house a full-grown corn snake just fine).

If your looking for a begginer snake as in you have never held a snake before get a red tail boa or a ball python. There great for begginers very friendly and there teeth are either to small to bite you or to soft.

You never know if you will end up being scared of the movment they do with some snakes you show them fear they will attack. If your looking for a small snake then get a corn snake or a milk snake there small and there friendly depending on how raised

    I never kept one

Ball pythons and red tails are OK as first snakes the temps and humidity are not that far off from corns, I kept my corns at 85 f basking and keep ball pythons at 90f. Not really that hard to do
