What happens when there gets more islands by vulcanos?

When new Islands errupt and they make islands will that have any consecuenses or will there just countiniously get more and more islands making sea level + earth bigger?

    Volcanic islands form when magma reaches the surface. They will continue to form as long as the rock is above a hot spot or subduction zone. When the islands move off of the hot spot or subduction zone, erosion will take place, or they might become part of land if they are "scraped off."

    The Hawaiian islands are volcanic, with the newest island being Hawaii's Big Island, but if you follow the entire Hawaiian-Emperor Seamount chain, you'll see that the islands have eroded away.

    while there are new volcanic islands forming, older ones are eroding away back into the sea. The system is in equilibrium
