What's wrong with me? (Women Only Please)?
I'm 15 years old and I have noticed some recent changes in my body. For instance, I haven't had my period in 2 months. The last time I had one was in late November. I had it twice that month. The first time I was only spotting light brown blood and it only lasted about 3 or 4 days. 2 weeks later I had a heavy red blood period for a full 7 days. I have always been a tad irregular, usually 2 or 3 weeks off tops. I also rarely ever get red heavy bleeding. I usually get a heavy brown color that will last 6 or 7 days. Now its February and I haven't had a period since late November. I have never had 2 periods in one month before like I did in November, so this is new. Aside from this, my heart has started to flutter. It doesn't hurt or anything, it just will flutter occasionally for like 2 seconds for no reason at all. I don't even have to be moving and all of a sudden my heart will flutter. My Mother says this is hereditary and I shouldn't worry about it because she has the same type of fluttering in her heart. I was just worried about it because I was having problems with my menstrual cycle and this just started happening to me on top of that. Also, I have been getting heartburn more often. It used to never really happen, but a few days ago I started getting a heartburn after anything and everything I ate. I would just eat my food, it doesn't matter if its acidic or not, and I'll get a heartburn or have some Acid indigestion an hour or so later. What is happening to me, I'm scared that my period hasn't shown up and the fluttering and heartburn are mixed in with it. Can someone please tell me what is happening, is there something wrong with my body or is this normal? I want to say before you answer this, I am a virgin so I don't understand why I have stopped getting periods. I've been under alot of stress lately but now issues are starting to resolve themselves. I am a little heavy, but I just started monitoring my diet since I've been having these problems. Please Please Please answer this. Thank You :)

You're 15, that's what's happening.
Your period is going to be erratic and weird until your early 20's. That's normal and nothing to worry about. It will come back.
Your mom is probably right about the heart thing but if you're worried then ask your doctor next time you go. The heartburn however is a problem you should have looked in to.

I had PCOS for years and didn't know it. When did your mom start her period? Was it normal? Every female in my family started at the age of 13 or younger and I didn't start until I was 15 (almost 16) and thought it was normal because health class tells you that it's normal to be irregular in your teens and that you can be a late bloomer. If you go any longer without your period-like another month or two. Talk to your mom and then try to go see a doctor...it could be nothing or it could be PCOS or another hormone issue. I also get the fluttering heart thing but my doctor said it's normal.

I am 15, and you need to start listening in health class.
When you are young and you get your period, it is rare that it comes on time. In fact, it is not supposed to. It's going to take a few years for it to get on track, sometimes you'll miss a month or two, it's normal. My friend once didn't get hers for 6 months and then when she did, she bled for two weeks and the doctors said it was normal and nothing of concern. For me, my period usually skips a month or two, and comes back heavy.
As for the heart burn, I guess take some Pepto bismol and start exercising, you need to be healthy and fit. You may also have acid problems for which you'd need to visit a doctor. Stress does contribute to heart burn and how your period runs btw. Period = Hormones + Stress = Delays or Early

Oh my dear, you need to calm down. The number one thing is to tell your mom or aunt, etc. so they can make you an appointment with the doctor. It is not the end of the world. It can be very common in young women like yourself. Chances are, you are so stressed that you are causing the heartburn by worrying WAY to much.

don't worry. It takes a while for your period to get into a normal cycle. With the heart fluttering, listen to your mother. Don't freak out.Ur a young woman and its natural. If it really bothers u ask ur mother to take u to the doctor. But from what ive read I think ur okay. :-)
