Yes, I'm a fan of Judge Judy and Judge Mathis. None of the new judges, however.
I don't agree that the participants are paid at all, apart from their settlements of course. Both are still entertaining, even if the plaintiffs/ defendants are being humiliated and embarrassed. Not that some don't deserve it. Some of their cases are purely ridiculous or juvenile, or they offer some whoshotjon story without any evidence whatsoever.
