What is the best laptop for a screenwriter?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced laptop to write screenplays on? Could you recommend brand/model and how much RAM to get?
THanks very much

What you want is the most basic of computers. Writing software is very simple, not requiring the advanced fast processors and video capabilities, etc. You can't type (or orate if you spring for speech recognition software) faster than the slowest current generation processor can process. Go with a name brand and investigate the model you want to see what owners of that model have to say vs what the manufacturer's hype says. I'm usually a Mac person, but in this case you can go with a computer that costs much less than a mac with no problem. (or an older used Mac if you want a simpler to use computer that will last.)

If I were you I'd look into
1. Convenient Keybard
and optionally
2. Long Battery Life
3. Light Weight
if you want to write outside. Brand, RAM, Disk size even processor do not matter much since writing requires your brain power but not much of the CPU. I think Macbook Air will fit the description except for "reasonably priced" part.
I'd get something like that:
