Vans Warped Tour 2014?
I'm a warped tour virgin for starters and also like to plan ahead so with that said.. I was wondering a couple of things if anyone can help, that'd be great.
-Meeting bands- Do you have to buy a wristband or do you just wait at their booths for them to show up before their set? I don't plan on being IN the crowd cause I'd rather meet the bands I seen live than watch them play.
-Hair- I have naturally curly hair but it looks like **** that way, should I just put it up in a ponytail whilst it being curly? Straightening it would be dumb obviously but help. I know everyone's gonna be sweaty and **** but I'd at least like to be somewhat less gross looking.
-Clothes- How does a blank tanktop and shorts sound? All my clothes are black anyway.
Any other info would be appreciated. I know the basics already (chapstick, extra bottlecap, no flip-flops, no dresses, etc.)
Thanks guys.

When I went to warped tour you didn't need a wristband. If you go to the bands tent they will tell the time and place they will be signing that day. Get there early to insure you get a spot. After a certain amount of people they cut off the line.
I would put your hair in a pony tail.
I would advise against black clothing. Wear bright colors. The heat is killer. The ones that down with heat exhaustion were wearing black. Stick to short and a tank top. Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty.
Other tips:
BRING: Water, Sunscreen,Hat, Cheap sunglasses, Hand sanitizer, backpack, sharpies.
Get to band sets 30 minutes before they are set to play.
Get there an hour or so before the doors open.
If you didn't buy pre-sale you can get a jump of the line wristband by either donating 3 canned goods, old cellphone or $5. You get to go in the pre-sale line which is shorter than the regular priced ticket line. (Not sure if they are doing that this year)
Once you get inside go straight the vans tent and main stage. There will be a huge blow up with the times/bands/stages. They have free papers and pencils to fill out the bands and times. After you plan your day go explore the booths. Vans, Tillys, American Rag, Record Labels, KIA, etc.. give you free stuff.
Be sure to eat a good breakfast that day. Eat there even if you don't feel hungry. Take a break in the shade every once in awhile to cool off and relax. Be sure to stay well hydrated and keep applying sunscreen. Have a spot to meet up with friends if you get split up.

I've never been to Warped either :((( BUT I've watched so many videos on things you should bring and do and whatever.
Meeting Bands: They'll have this huge blowup thing that has all the times of the bands playing and I'm pretty sure they'll have when they'll be signing and meeting people. As far as the wrist bands, I'm not so sure. I believe some at some booths you have to have a wristband.
Hair: It's going to be hot no matter where you go so do whatever to your hair to stay cool. If you're not planning on being in the crowd or moshing, then at least you'll look better than most people.
Clothes: Shorts and a tank would be fine. It's going to be hot anyway and most people will be in shorts and a tank. Black might be a bit hot but most people will probably end up wearing some black so you won't be the only one.
Extra Tips: I heard that if you bring 3 cans of canned food and you bring it to a booth called "feed our children now" or something like that, you'll get skip the line passes!
Source(s): Videos from YouTube; there's a ton. Go look them up if you have any additional questions or if you're not sure about something. Hope it helped! - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

The only good fans of All Time Low, Simple Plan, pop-punk bands like them, and Warped Tour-core bands are those that are willing to think for themselves. But that's harder to find than a good Warped Tour band or good whiny, mainstream, angsty pop-punk song, ain't it?
Bottom line: pop-punk=sh|t while Warped Tour=waste of time AND money!

Vans Warped Tour is a great experience! :D I'm sure you'll have tons of fun.
1. Buying a wristband for meets and signings isn't necessary for Warped. Though, you will still want to get to the tent plenty early so you won't be wasting too much time just waiting in line. But, with bigger and better known bands, getting a wristband or ticket would be a better precaution to make sure you will indeed get your turn to meet them.
2. Hair ends up being the least of your worries when you get to Warped. Leaving it down will turn into a sweat filled, knotty disaster. It can also get tangled in people's hands and clothes because of how close and crowded the groups end up being at the concerts. So I advise with every part of me, just put it up. It's out of your eyes and is a better way to beat the heat then to try to leave it down just for the sake of "looking good." Everyone by the end of the day looks pretty awful. It's the experience that matters, not how you looked while having it. (:
3. I would try to stick more to lighter colors for clothing so that the sun isn't drawn to you directly. Don't wear clothing that is thick, and make sure what you're wearing is comfortable (not too big, not too tight) because you will be on your feet and jumping around all day. Softer fabrics are more comfortable. If you're wearing something that shows a lot of skin, bring plenty of sun screen, because you don't want to get burned. Make sure what you wear is something you don't mind getting dirty because you will probably have to throw whatever it is away after. Clothing tends to get pretty destroyed by all the dirt. Remember: Comfortable shoes and socks are really important!
From an experienced Warped Tourer, I would like to give you some tips:
- Bring can food/goods, they are a "skip the line" pass. This is good to do, because sometimes you can be waiting in line for hours before you reach the front.
- Buy a map and schedule the second you get in there, so you won't miss your favorite bands or lose your way.
- Keep an eye on when signing times are, because you may have the chance to meet your favorite bands! (:
- Don't be afraid to ask a Warped employee or security guard for help, that's what they're there for.
- Make sure your phone is fully charged and that you have someone to contact if you need to go home.
- Know where your friend is at all times, it's easy to lose your way there.
- Set up a meeting place just in case either of you stray away from each other.
- Wear comfortable clothing, because you will always be on your feet, jumping around.
- Wear something you don't mind getting dirty. Because there is A TON of dust and you might get splashed with paint or disgusting water.
- Make sure you bring PLENTY of money. Running out of money is a pretty awful thing to happen.
- Get there nice and early. Bands only wait an half an hour to an hour to start playing once the doors open.
- Don't get too close to the front where you could be shoved into a barricade. That hurts.
- Put your hair up. Or wear a hat. This isn't a fashion show, it's a concert. Keep your hair out of your face so you can see. (:
- You are only allowed to bring one sealed bottle of water. So make sure you know where you can get refills or bring plenty of money to buy more. You'll need it!
- Keep track of the money you spend. Set a certain amount for each groups of things you will want or need. (ex. $50 for water, $50 for food, $50 for merchandise.)
- If you want to get something signed, get to the booth really early. Or buy a wrist band to take extra cautions in making sure you will get the chance to meet that band.
- Help someone if they need it. Keep an eye out for other hurt fans.
- If you're bringing your parents and don't want them following you around, drop them off in the Reverse Day Care.
- Keep in mind that it gets REALLY hot and there isn't much shade. Take the cautions for such.
- Be careful in mosh pits. Some people can get pretty violent.
- Watch your back, these pits can open up anywhere.
- Try to always keep yourself straight if you're crowd surfing, so if you get dropped you won't fall on your head. (Don't feel offended if you do get dropped. It happens all the time.)
- NO. OPEN. TOED. SHOES. Please. I can't stress this enough. You will get stepped on so many times while you're there. Wear sneakers and comfortable socks.
- Don’t buy things from people you probably shouldn’t trust, (ex. Cigarettes, etc.)
- Don’t even buy things from someone who looks trustworthy, (ex. Backstage pass, ticket, etc.) because it is most likely not serious. If someone is of relevance, you’ll know.
- The sooner you buy your ticket the better. The amount of money goes up the longer you wait to order one.
- DO NOT wait till you get there to buy a ticket because there is no guarantees you will get one.
- Don't wear anything that will easily fall off, because you will lose it.
- Don't wear anything spikey or that sticks out because it could get ripped off or you could hurt someone.
- The more people the merrier! Go with a group of friends if you can. It’s also a lot safer.
- Bring lots of sun tan lotion and chapstick. Don't want to get burned.
- Stay hydrated. Passing out at a concert is not fun for you or for anyone around you.
- Be sure to watch out for crowd surfers. They could end up kicking you in the back of the head if you're not paying attention.
- Bring a bag with supplies you will need, nothing bulky or that will get in the way of anyone else.
- Pack your bag the night before, so you’re not stressed out the morning of.
- Take your sanitary precautions. Wash your hands or bring Purell for before you eat, etc.
Supplies: Marker or pen for autographs, merch to get signed, phone, drink, money, camera, sunglasses, ticket. (that's probably not something you should forget xD)
- People there are really friendly. Be nice to others and they will be nice to you.
- If you’re driving, be careful of those around you. You’re all getting to the same place/going home. No need to rush.
- Don’t bring danger to others.
- Don't bring anything you don't want broken.
- Be aware of your surroundings. And keep in mind: Stranger danger!
- Do. Not. Take. Drugs. Or. Drinks. From. People. Please. D:
- Try to get to a stage of a band you really like early, so you get a good view.
- Know your limits. If you need to sit down for a bit, then do it. There's nothing wrong with a little resting.
- If you're claustrophobic or don't like being touched, stay towards the back, there are A LOT of people in the concerts. If you start to feel like you're suffocating while in a concert, stay calm. You're fine. Just breathe slow and leave the area you are in.
- Know where to go if you need help.
- Check out all the tents and look for cool free stuff! :D
- Check out some bands you've never heard of on your free time, you never know, they can become your new favorite band. :)
Just have fun! Vans Warped Tour is a great place to be. (:
