Lightworks; semi-free alternative to Avid ($1,000), Adobe Premiere ($240/year), and Sony Vegas ($600).

Lightworks used to cost more than $1,000, but now Lightworks Pro costs $60/year and you can download a FREE version from their website.

Lightworks has been used in the movie industry for more than 20 years.

Editors using Lightworks have produced numerous internationally renowned and Oscar and Emmy award-winning feature films and television programs, including The King's Speech, The Departed, Mission Impossible, Braveheart, and Pulp Fiction.

Lightworks Free has 95% of all features and you can use the free version as long as you want.

Adobe Premiere Pro,Apple Final Cut Pro(only for apple systems), Sony Vegas Pro, Magix Video Pro. Make sure that you purchase/download the latest version of these software as latest version offers more features and makes it more user friendly. Also make sure that you meet the 'RECOMMENDED" system requirements required by these softwares, not the "Minimum' one as these softwares are quite complex and atleast need a mid range quad core processor and 4 gb ram to run efficiently. As you are doing professional editing, i recommend you to use latest Intel 4th Gen. i7 processor with 8 GB ram and 1 TB hard disk.

You can more about these softwares here : http://professional-video-editing-software-review....

This ones free as you wish. Professionals don't use freeware programs for the PC to edit there Videos. They have stuff in house. And it takes skill to produce a "professional" feel to it. The software doesn't do it for you.

I guess you are new in this. Then I must suggest Pinnacle Studio and Arcsoft Showbiz. It has a lot of options with simple user interface. You can learn online as well.
