Ontario tax question?
Just wondering if anyone knows if you can claim an overseas child as a dependent. My wife is from another country and her daughter is still there and we send money to her grandparents to take care of her. From what I have read it is considered a dependent regardless of country living in, But I would like to know if anyone has gone through this.

Nope, nothing. Not for GSTC or CCTB, the child has to RESIDE with you to qualify for that. She resides overseas with the grandparents.

No for the dependent child amount, you have a spouse, the child does not live with you.
