can i get away with not using quilters glue?

I want to finish off a quilt and I have no glue others have used on theirs. Can I get away without it?

    People quilted for thousands of years without glue. It does make hand quilting easier as the layers don't shift, but baste your layers well and work without it.

    I've been making quilts for years and I've never used any glue. Some quilters use glue on the back of the binding to hold it in place while they sew it but it's not necessary. Just use pins or clips to hold it in place and sew carefully.
