How can I get 90s/00s rock sound?
I have a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul that I use with my Vox AC30. I want to get the Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream and White Stripes' Elephant sound. Is a Big Muff a good pedal to use? I don't have the money for a Marshall JCM 800 right now but I just wanted to know if I can get this guitar sound in the meantime. Thanks a lot.

To get the sound on Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins, you need an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.
Billy Corgan used a 1970's Big Muff for most of the songs on Siamese Dream.
Here's the EXACT settings Billy used for the album. These have been confirmed by him on a video on YouTube.
SETTINGS:
Volume/Amplifier: You can have it at any setting, as it's just the volume. But Billy Corgan had his at the 12 o'clock position.
Tone: 12 o'clock
Sustain: 4 o'clock
Below is a picture of my Big Muff Pi with the Siamese Dream settings.
Hope this helps!

I've never used a Big Muff, isn't that more of a fuzz pedal. I used a Fulltone OCD with my AC15 and got some pretty good JCM type tones.
