Changes Towards : Permanents becoming Citizens, International Students becoming Citizens.

Did those changes took place already or yet to come into effect. Thank you

Update:

Are these changes affect the new comers after the changes take place or all the candidates who wish to apply for Citizenship who already qualify for it ?

    Read it yourself.

The main changes for permanent residents becoming citizens is that you must now wait four out of six years to apply for citizenship (instead of the current three out of the past four years) and you must have filed income tax returned in each year you are claiming to be in Canada.

International students have never been able to apply for citizenship. This has not changed.

The bill is in first reading. It still has to go through committees, debates, second reading, legal reviews, votes, the senate, etc. It is a long way from being passed and is almost certain to change.

Simple it is not the New Law . It is proposed changes. It may or may not be amended. It is easy to read the New Law for yourself. The NEW PROPOSED law is still many months away from becoming the law.

If you are a REAL student you should be able to understand the new PROPOSED rules they are not complicated.

If you qualify for CITIZENSHIP now I suggest you APPLY now. NEW people will be under the NEW rules.
