Is it possible to use an 8 GB micro sd card in a device rated for a 4 GB card?
It is nearly impossible to get 4 GB cards where i am.

Simply try it. Many manuals were written when 4Gb cards were all that was available. It will probably work just fine, no guarantees.

There is a 50/50 chance that an 8GB card would work in a 4GB Slot, you should definitely try it out. If it doesn't work, this is due to the firmware in your device only being able to recognize SD cards with 4GB and lower only.

yes of course. if it the same type but just different memory or brand it will work :)
