How do I keep calm when there are bombs and gun shots not even two blocks from my house? Pakistan.?

This is my first time visiting this foreign country because of my dads job. Instead of a hotel, he decided to place me with a family in lyari. These people are very nice and even though its hard to communicate, they do their best to fulfill my needs. The only thing that sucks is that the house im living in is the ghetto and I hear bombs dropping and guns firing 24/7 afraid their house may be hit. How do I keep calm throughout all of this? My dad brought me here for a reason, but im not doing a great job in participating. What sucks even more is that ill be here for another 6 days.

Sleep, read, eat, exercise without leaving the house, like prison. 6 DAYS should be over in no time.

2 Blocks away? WTH was your father thinking?

You make the most of a bad situation.

Just remember, you only have to experience this for a matter of days or a week, these people LIVE with these EVERYDAY.

Learn from them, understand what they go through, how they cope, how they survive. Get an understanding of all this "war" so to speak from an innocent civilians perspective.

Imagine this is your life, that you live like/with this everyday. Imagine what your life would be like. Maybe this will actually teach you to respect and truly appreciate what you have and how lucky you are back home.

I'm sure your father would not of placed you in a family home that is in danger of being bombed/fired upon. Your father would not put your life at risk.

Spend your next 6 days walking in the shoes of those that live there. Learn their daily routine, what they do, what they "play", and ask about how the bombs/guns make them feel.

You can take what you learn and feel back to your home and be a better person for it. Never forget what you saw/experienced and let this motivate you to be the best you can be, yet not over materialistic and selfish.
