First....
Tell the OS version (Apple logo > About This Mac)
Tell the type of computer (Apple logo > About This Mac > More Info)
Tell which keyboard is attached and what else is attached.
While I'm waiting to hear what you bought, start in Safe Boot and test the input fields.
If this is Google Chrome, test in Safari.
I'm sure you know that to type on any web page, you must click to place the cursor in a typing field.
To prevent people ignoring your question entirely, because of "SHOUTING CAPS LOCK" appearance, type in TextEdit, and then copy-paste into Yahoo Answer.
