Royalties from Beatles Covers?

The Beatles recorded many covers of hits written by other writers in their early days, such as Roll Over Beethoven, Money, [S]he's got the Devil in her Heart, You Really Got A Hold on Me, Anna, Chains, Kansas City - Hey Hey Hey, Long Tall Sally and many others. Is there any way to find out how much these writers received in royalties over the years? Are the records of payment by BMI or ASCAP public or private?

I'm not sure why you want to know. Obviously the Beatles made much more money from their own songs than they paid in royalties to other songwriters.

I doubt that you could find out, the writers may not have owned the songs anyway they may have sold the rights on to the publishers or a third party.

When George Harrison got sued for My Sweet Lord, the writer Ronnie Mack had been dead for 9 years so it was the music publisher that got the money, his family got nothing.
