Would someone translate Ezekiel 23:20 into a more common English?

Isn't the Bible uplifting? I have heard that some school libraries ban it due to the pornographic content.

If you were to read all of Ezekiel 23 you'd discover it's the story of two sisters: Oholah and Oholibah. Verse 4 tells us whom they represent: Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.

Both sisters prostituted themselves with the Assyrians, who were a pagan people. So God is saying both Samaria and Jerusalem left Him to worship the false gods of their neighbors. Prostitution and adultery are often used to represent the worshiping of false gods because there was a high degree of sexual content in pagan worship ceremonies. Worse than that these ceremonies also has a child sacrifice component for which Samaria and Jerusalem would also be judged. Verse 37b says: They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them.

(Ezekiel 23:20) . . .And she kept lusting in the style of concubines belonging to those whose fleshly member is as the fleshly member of male asses and whose genital organ is as the genital organ of male horses.

It's about spiritual prostitution. God's people were supposed to be faithful to him only but they often turned to pagan nations. Not in a casual way, this is why God inspired Ezekiel to write in this way. Their disloyalty to God is being likened to bestial passion. This was how far they'd gone.
