Is it normal for my belly button piercing....?
I got it pierced a little over a week ago. It was doing fine, was a little sore but not bad. Now it doesn't hurt but the top ball is kind of set into my skin, like a little divot. I'm not sure if that is normal or not lol. And also it's been getting crusty and scabbing a bit but not bad anymore. Oh and after using the salt water on it the area around it has been peeling and is really soft. Just wanting to see if this stuff is normal or not. I'm not really worried but my husband is.

I had my belly button pierced several years ago now and I don't think I experienced any of the things you are except for the crustiness. I've had many other piercings however and I have noticed things like what you're experiencing. I'm not a professional piercer so please don't take my word as gospel, but I think the ball setting into your skin is probably just swelling from the trauma of having it pierced, the same as the scabbing and the pus which is making it get all crusty. Keep a very close eye on it as its very common for bodies to reject piercings. Be careful of the waist of your clothes not knocking it too much, like if you wear jeans too high or whatever as this can sometimes make it sweat and irritate it a little more with the movement. My advice is to keep washing it with salt water 2-3 times a day, try not to over cleanse it as if you catch it on something its really going to hurt and could slow down the healing process. If in any doubt go back to your piercer, and if it gets way worse or stays like this for a while, go and see your GP as it could be an infection. I hope this helps!

okay the good thing is that ur looking after it cleaning to stop infections etc.
The one thing i find strange is that the top ball has kinda set into ur skin i don't think that is suppose to happen, i would suggest going bc to the place where u had it pierced and ask them about it okay!!
Its normal for it to scab because its healing so all that is normal, just be careful have it looked at and keep it clean.
Hope i helped :)
