im 18 and i still live at home and i overherd them fighting and he said to her you better watch the way you are talking to me or else imma leave and take the kids and when there were down stairs i herd him say thats what you get for having an attitude does this mean he hit her i once called the cops and he said to stay out of it and stop being nosy what should i do

I called the cops on my mothers second husband when he abused her. I let him have it, he was so scared of me after that he never touched my mother again. Just keep calling the police, it will intimidate him, and may slow him down. Good Luck.

Cops don't like to get into domestic stuff. Did you talk to your mom about it? Maybe you should just ask her.
