If Nascar is going to run an advertisement banner at the top of the screen should they get rid of commercials?

Interesting point. Last I heard the last place qualifier for the 500 gets $250,000 and the first place team gets about 1.5 or 2 million. then figure in the rest of the field. it should be posted some where. I counted about 10 "roll backs" then another 10 or so wreckers. Then there's the infield care center, which I think is like a hospital. The big tracks used to have a helicopter on hand in case of a medevac.

I worked at new Hampshire international speedway for a few races. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. I was just and usher and I had to be there at 6:00 AM. the sun wasn't even up yet. That was about 20 years ago. If you could get to a track at about sun up, the place comes alive like a city.

it would be interesting to try to figure out just how much money is spent. I bet you could find the costs if you dig enough. When I applied at NHIS, we were told that when nascar comes in, they are in CONTROL during the races. And don't forget the two young ladies in the tight yellow sprint drivers uniforms that stand around the winners circle . some one has to pay them.

Just writing this makes me remember working at NHIS, but I had a hip replacement 5 months ago and standing all that time would be rough.

  • nope, not gonna happen.
