Very few engineering students actually do well in engineering school. That is normal. They make the freshmen and sophmore subjects the toughest to weed out the worst from the best.

Although depressing, this is a known way to get through college of engineering:

    1. Don't make friends or waste time hanging out with them, unless they are smart and efficient study partners.

    2. Don't go to parties or bars.

    3. Don't work part time.

    4. Spend 3 hours of studying for every 1 hour of class lecture.

    5. Start your homework within the hour it was assigned to you and try to finish it at least 1 day before it is due. This will give you time for corrections if you later realize you messed up.
