Question about a PCV system. Problems with my Ford Expedition.?

I took my vehicle to a shop and was told it has a leak in the pcv hose and I had to order a new pcv system. My current problems with my vehicle are: rattling sound whenever I accelerate, misfiring on some of the cylinders and idling rough when stopped. And a loss of power when trying to drive up hills and inclines. Do all these sound like problems from a bad pcv?

No. You may need a hose but you have other problems too. A leak in a PCV hose can't cause all your problems. The rattling when accelerating is usually a bad EGR valve or gasket. Maybe dirty injectors for the rough idling and misfires. A clogged catalytic converter can cause the loss of power. These are just ideas. Good luck!

Yes. It is an intake air leak that the computer doesn't know about. So a running lean condition can cause all of those things. Running lean causes hi heat in the combustion chamber making it ping. Fix it or at least duck tape it.
