Isn't accident forgiveness a joke?
Who needs money off their deductable if you never have an accident?
And they charge you more for this feature!
Haha suckers.
I know it does kick in if you have an accident but I think it's a very stupid marketing ploy for dummies.

Yes, it is; you have to read the fine print when you buy your car insurance. If you have an accident, even if the judge comes back and says it wasn't your fault, the insurance company has every right to raise your rates, even eliminate the "accident forgiveness" portion of your insurance policy. There have been several commercials for "Accident Forgiveness" for car insurance policies through Allstate and Liberty Mutual; one in particular for Liberty Mutual features a young woman, who, before the out of vision announcer speaks, says "Hey, insurance companies, nobody's perfect"; what she doesn't know, however, is that if your driving record is not spotless, even if you have one accident that wasn't your fault, your deductible and monthly premium will be higher than for someone that has had no accidents at all.

It's not a joke, it's a marketing strategy, to encourage low risk drivers to buy a policy with you.
I've never seen a charge associated with accident forgiveness - I'm guessing you're not an agent, or you'd know that.

My health insurance deductible is half of what it should be. True, if I never hit the deductible, I never "get to use it." But, I have the benefit of knowing I'm not liable for the full amount.
Life insurance is a gimmick until you die. Then it's not.

It is absolutely a marketing ploy for the ignorant. Shop your policy around, at least every other year but more frequently if needed. There isn't a single company that is always best for you.

Just because you've never needed to use accident forgiveness doesn't mean it's a useless feature. Ask the tens of thousands who have had to use this feature how useless it is.

Its totally bull. I had allstate and had an accident what wasn't even my fault because the guy was drunk and ran a redlight and totaled my car 4 years ago and I also had that "accident forgivness" on my policy, and I'm still payin for it in more ways one and here it is 4 years later. They lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
